Application: Parts Cleaning/Degreasing

CBG's parts cleaning/degreasing (PW & PWV) Series of solvent recyclers enable you to improve operational throughput. We can also integrate these recyclers with your parts washer or degreaser, should you desire this level of automation.

Maintaining the efficient, low-cost and sustainable operation of your parts washer or degreaser is vital to managing plant production costs.

PW Series recyclers can process solvents including methylene chloride, trans-1,2-dichloroethylene blends, trichloroethylene, Perchloroethylene, Vertrel™ series, Novec™ series, N-propyl bromide and other solvents used for parts cleaning and degreasing.

PWV Series recyclers can process solvents including mineral spirits, D-limonene, thinners, naphtha and other solvents used for parts washing.

CBG’s PW Series solvent recyclers are UL2208 certified for use in nonhazardous environments and satisfy the latest Uniform Fire Code (UFC) requirements for solvent distillation units. Waste transfer fill pumps are available to reduce risk of spills and exposure. Automatic shutdown sensors and pressure-relief valves are included.

Application: Paint & Coating

Paint and coating operations use a significant amount of paint thinner, acetone, toluene, xylene and other solvents for spray gun cleaning and routine line flushing. Used solvent combined with paint waste is often a large waste stream in your facility. Costs for solvents and for hazardous waste disposal can be costly and erode profits. Application: Printing

Lithographic and flexographic printing operations use a significant amount of press wash/blanket wash and other solvents for press cleaning. Used solvent combined with ink waste is often a large contributor to your facility’s waste stream.

Vacuum Assist for Solvent Recyclers

Used for: Painting & Coating, Printing and Composites

Some customers seek to recycle solvents with a relatively high boiling point that may exceed the normal operating range of the CBG recycler. By placing the system under vacuum assist, the boiling point of the waste solvent is lowered substantially, allowing efficient processing of a normally high-boiling waste solvent. As a general rule, any solvent or solvent blend with a boiling point over 180°C (350°F) will require the vacuum assist option. CBG offers both air-powered and electric vacuum assist options.

C1D1 Options for Solvent Recyclers

Used for: Painting & Coating, Printing and Composites

A recycler constructed to Class 1 Division 1 (C1D1) standards will operate safely and can be recommended when the expected operating environment contains a concentration of potentially flammable vapors. To do so, potential ignition sources contained within the recycler are separated from the likely hazardous environment by approved protection techniques. Generally, the various electrical control components are housed within a C1D1-certified, explosion-proof enclosure that would prevent a spark or explosion within the enclosure from escaping to ignite other flammable vapors outside the recycler.

Additionally, the motors contained in the recycler are rated C1D1, with enclosures to prevent contact with the external environment. Wiring is also C1D1-certified. Control signals going into the control enclosure are run through C1D1-certified barriers to limit the voltage of current that could go onto the line leading outside the control enclosure. If you're unsure about whether a C1D1 control enclosure is required for your system, please consult with your CBG professional, who will help you make the determination based on where the recycler is intended to be located once onsite.

Water Separator for Solvent Recyclers

Used for: Printing

Some waste solvent mixtures that contain water ultimately recover the recycled solvent with the water together and must be separated by a physical process. To do that, the recycled solvent is directed into the Solvent/Water Separator Module. The solvent is lighter than the water, so it is separated from the water as it naturally rises above the water level. The purified solvent is then removed from one pipe, while the pure water is removed from another pipe. The module is designed to facilitate this separation and easily channel the solvent and the water into their separate outlets automatically.
